Financial Analyst

TITLE: Financial Analyst                                                                 
Classification:  Non-Exempt
Department: Corporate Administration
Reports to: CEO/President

Position Summary:
Responsible for conducting in-depth analysis of revenue, credit, expenses and overhead. Analyze company financial performance, forecasts and budget estimates for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with procedures and regulations. Will collaborate with accounting staff, operations management and President/CEO to help make critical decisions about investment funding, credit extension, expense management and business unit financial performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes and interprets business unit and overall financial performance data and models in relation to current financial results and future forecasts. 
  • Develops financial or business plans including annual budgets and multi-year projections. 
  • Analyzes broadband and energy industry conditions and financial trends. 
  • Assesses risks to business operations. 
  • Assesses the cost effectiveness of projects and services. 
  • Researches issues related to the business environment and sustainable business practices.
  • Presents oral or written reports on Finley financial performance to audiences including the Board of Directors, management, lenders and investors and the Audit and Finance Committee of the Company. 
  • Creates presentations using internal ERP and accounting system, to illustrate financial reports. 
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • BSBA in accounting, finance or economics.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, consolidation and financial analysis.  Previous experience in a professional services environment is preferred.

  • Economics and Accounting — Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data. 
  • English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. 
  • Mathematics — Advanced knowledge of algebra, statistics, and their applications. 
  • Computers and Electronics — Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.  General knowledge of Deltek Vision, SQL, SQL reporting services and Tableau.
  • Communications — Knowledge of alternative ways to inform via written, oral, and visual media. 
  • Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. 
  • Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources. 
  • Law and Government — Knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process primarily related to financial impacts. 
  • Marketing — Knowledge of marketing strategy and tactics, and sales techniques

Physical, Mental and Visual Demands:

Flow of work involves normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination much of the time. Physical demands require occasionally lifting over 25 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments.

Travel approximately 10% of the time.
