The five biggest streaming platforms added 4,500 titles to their respective catalogues between February and May of 2025, according to a new report by the entertainment data firm Gracenote.

Netflix grew its library the most, and sports fans can applaud—they got more new options than viewers of any other genre.

The new movies, shows, and games amount to a 5% increase, according to the streaming report. Combined, the five biggest streamers offer nearly 590,000 TV shows, movies, and sports programs, with each individual episode and game counting as one title.

Amazon Prime Video held steady with the biggest library, making up 67.3% of all titles available. Meanwhile, Netflix had 20.1%, Disney+ (including Hulu, ESPN+, and Stars) had 9.1%, Paramount+ had 3.2%, and AppleTV+ had 0.3%.

Thursday’s report focused on how those libraries changed in the first half of 2025.

Netflix added the most, with 18.2% growth. Meanwhile, Apple TV+ had a growth rate of 3.7%, Amazon Prime Video had a growth rate of 3.2%, Disney+ had an increase of 1.6%, and Paramount+ grew by 1%.

Put another way, Netflix still offers access to only about 20% of the total library, but the streamer is growing its library faster than any other service.

Among the new additions across all five streamers, sports stood out in the report.

Live games, sports-related news, highlight shows, and sports documentaries grew by 7.8%—more than any other content type. Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and Netflix offered the biggest sports libraries.

TV programs also made it to the podium, though, with an increase of 6.9% titles over the study period. Movies were up 4%.

Titles come and go, but average daily TV time has remained flat at about 4.5 hours, according to the Nielsen National TV Panel study from the fourth quarter of 2024. Gracenote is a business unit of Nielsen, which measures viewership across channels and platforms.

The report noted that streaming accounted for 44.3% of TV usage in April 2025, making up the biggest share of that TV viewing time.
